Estoril Praia prepares for historic match in the Cup

The main squad of Mágico Estoril Praia held this Saturday, November 21st, the last training session with to preparing the reception to the Lusitano Ginásio Clube de Évora, for a clash between two Portuguese Football history, in a game of the third round of the Portuguese Cup , to be held next Sunday, November 22, at 3 pm, at the António Coimbra da Mota Stadium.

The Évora team, which in its history has 14 participations in the main echelon of national football, militant now in the H series of the Portuguese Championship, has in its history two appearances in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup, in 1954 / 1955 and in 1963/1964, the Mágico Estoril Praia was a finalist in 1943/1944, Semi-finalist in 2016/2017, and also had 7 appearances in the quarter-finals.

Estoril Praia and Lusitano de Évora have faced each other 19 times, with the balance of victories balanced: 6 for Estoril Praia, 6 for Lusitano Ginásio and a draw in the remaining 7 matches.

For the Portuguese Cup, only once did the two teams meet, it was on November 9, 1996, in Évora, curiously also in the 3rd round of the competition, with Estoril Praia winning by five balls in two, in the game with more goals between the two teams.
