The Estoril Praia Under-23 team completed the first lap of the first phase of the Liga Revelação 2018/2019, currently occupying fifth place, 3 points behind the leader of the competition.
Alexandre Santos, Estoril Praia Manager, talked about this initial phase of the season, “the Liga Revelação and the Portuguese FA have surprised everyone, is a competition rich in competitiveness, many teams with great quality, intense games, goals and a lot of pace. The League is undoubtedly bringing and presenting even more talent to Portuguese football, if some details are improved in organizational terms, we have a project of great added value for football.
“At Estoril Praia we have a group that has been growing, the players feel the club and the project is more cemented. The players feel that they can evolve, that the club is making a huge effort to match the needs of two professional teams and that in the end they can work and show their value “, advances Alexandre Santos.
“The results have been very positive, we are within the group of teams that struggle to move to the second phase of the competition and the squad feels that it can be enhanced and valued both individually and collectively. We face all the games with the goal of being competitive and winning, we are ambitious and things have gone well. We will play by game by game, doing our job. ”
“We have players, who are already “fixed” in the main team, as is the case of Marcos António and Matheus Nunes, we have players who train constantly and are called to the working group of the main team and this shows that we are doing our role and that the goal of this project for the club is to be achieved growing and evolving the players and the club. The second round of the competition promises great competitiveness, the other teams already identify our competence and wanting to have ball and control of the games. We will have difficulties, but the team base is solid and we will improve the players even more, give more players a chance, show more talent and solidify our position in the table “, says the coach.
The Estoril Praia Under-23 team will return to the competition next Saturday, where they will visit Portimonense, at Estádio Dois Irmãos, at 11 am.
