João Gomes, winner of the Portuguese Championship (3rd division) in the season that ended last Sunday, accompanies “Mister” Luís Freire, from Mafra to Amoreira. After a year in Sporting Club of Mafra, where he made 30 games and scored 3 goals, the 21-year-old Portuguese defender presents himself as a new element for the canarinha defense.
The young defender had the opportunity to graduate as a player at CF Os Belenenses, Casa Pia and CF Os Montelavarenses. Before joining CD Mafra, where he was a key player in the success of the team from the West, he also played at Pêro Pinheiro, where he was for two seasons.
João Gomes is “very happy to be part of this project and hopes to contribute to the success of the club.”
