On the fourth journey Estoril Praia has a trip to Alvalade, in front of a Sporting with numbers that speak for themselves in this season start. Also the Estorilistas present numbers in these first games and it is with a mix of confidence and responsibility that the Sunday meeting is prepared. In his second season in Amoreira, Eduardo spoke of expectations for the game.
After a year at Estoril Praia what do you like the most here or what surprised you the most?
Eduardo (E) – The fans. There are not many but they are different because even when the games do not run so well they are here to receive us in a very warm and special. This does not happen in every club and works as another form of encouragement.
What balance do you make of these first games?
(E) – It’s been good. The first game did not go as we expected but we reacted well and the team improved in the following games. Now we continue to work to improve, maintain the path, and evolve to achieve what we want for this time.
Three games completed, three games in which you started. Do you feel the trust that is being deposited to you?
(E) – The first season was, of course, adaptive. In this, being the second, there is a natural evolution and I am very satisfied by it. I do not feel more or less responsibility than any other teammate, I am one more contributing to the whole, to fulfilling my function.
Do you have any objectives for yourself?
(E) – The first objective is to get wins for the team. Of course later we have our own goals but as a matter of course, a number of goals, assists and even games.
The next game is against Sporting who are having a very good season start, with no conceded goals in the league. What expectations are there for this game?
(E) – We know the quality of Sporting, we have to be prepared at a tactical and technical level to achieve a good result and get into the field focused on what our work is. Only in this way can we aim for a victory in Alvalade.
Do the two consecutive wins help a stronger mentality for such a game?
(E) – Victories help in any game. It is important to win and after the positive results with the Vitória SC and CD Tondela the confidence came out reinforced. We know we have the chance to ‘hit the front’ with Sporting and play the game to win. We also know of the mistakes we can not make and what we have to do to follow this cycle of victories.
