Ultrapassámos apenas uma barreira psicológica importante”.
No ar paira o empate do Estoril em 2013 e questionado sobre a eventual pressão que isso poderá dar aos jogadores encarnados, o treinador entende que são coisas distintas mas que tudo conta. “Esse jogo marcou, foi um marco importante no Clube que o Marco Silva deixou, com um trabalho extraordinário, e isso em termos psicológicos é importante. Mas temos a perfeita noção de que vamos jogar contra uma grande equipa”.
“Temos de ser humildes ao ponto de admitir que o SL Benfica luta por objetivos superiores mas nós também não desistimos dos nossos. A nossa capacidade enquanto equipa vai ser posta à prova amanhã e espero uma boa resposta. Temos à vontade a jogar fora de casa e isso também pode ser decisivo”, disse ainda, referindo ume ventual ponto fraco do adversário. “As transições defensivas são momentos mais frágeis para o SL Benfica, vamos tentar explorar esses momentos e ser acutilantes, fazer mossa”.
Por fim Pedro Emanuel respondeu sobre os recentes casos de violência no futebol. “Não me revejo nesse tipo de futebol, futebol é alegria, é luta no sentido positivo da palavra. Não é passar para segundo plano os verdadeiros artistas, que são os jogadores de futebol. Eu sou lutador, sempre fui e serei, mas sempre com cordialidade e com o espírito positivo do jogo, porque foi isso que me levou a gostar de futebol desde pequeno, que me levou a ser jogador e agora treinador”, concluiu.
